Why I stopped rolling my eyes at people who collect variant covers
I used to think buying 3 copies of the same issue was straight up wasteful. Then my local shop in Portland, Cosmic Monster Comics, got a 1-in-100 incentive cover for a book I actually wanted to read. I ended up trading that extra copy for a run of Claremont X-Men issues, so now I get it. Has anyone else had a variant cover pay off like that or am I just lucky?
