A bad concrete pour at the hospital site in Tacoma last spring made me change how I check slump tests.

Wait, they poured bad concrete at a hospital? That's honestly terrifying to think about. I mean, that's a building where everything has to be right, you know? It really makes you wonder what else gets missed. I'd be triple-checking everything after seeing that too, no joke. A mistake like that could have some really bad results down the line.

Right? I'm with you, @cora177. I'd be so paranoid I'd start checking the concrete in my own driveway!

Holy crap, a hospital? That's not some random sidewalk, that's a place full of sick people and heavy equipment. What if a floor slab failed under an MRI machine or something? You're right to be paranoid, I'd be checking the mix on my patio furniture after hearing that. It just shows you can't trust anyone to do their job right anymore.
