Choosing between a crane and a telehandler for a tight site, went with the telehandler.
We had a 30-foot steel beam to set on a downtown Reno job with maybe 15 feet of clear space. The crane quote was $4,200 for the day, but the telehandler rental was half that and could still reach. It worked, but moving it around the pallets of block was a pain. Anyone have a better method for a cramped material lift?

You saved over two grand but that sounds like a NIGHTMARE to maneuver.

You mention "a NIGHTMARE to maneuver" and honestly I used to think the exact same thing. But then I watched my neighbor back his into a parking spot at Costco without any trouble and it completely changed my mind. Those tight spaces still make me nervous, but the savings might actually be worth the learning curve.

Right? The logistics alone would make my head spin. I can't even picture trying to get that thing down a grocery store aisle without taking out a whole display.
