Finally caved and bought the $2,500 laser level for our warehouse fit-out, and it just saved us a full day of layout work on a tricky mezzanine install.

Has anyone else found a specific tool that paid for itself way faster than you expected on a commercial job?

My cheap tape measure has cost me more in time than it ever saved.

Buy good tools from the start. A cheap one breaks when you need it most. That lost time adds up fast.

Haven't y'all ever made a cheap tool work just fine by being a little more careful? Half the time the expensive stuff just sits in the case looking pretty while you scramble to find the right battery.
