Found a cheap way to fix gouged concrete floors without full resurfacing

We had this warehouse floor that looked like a truck dragged a pallet jack with a broken wheel across half of it. The owner wanted it smooth again but didn't want to pay for a full epoxy overlay which was going to run like 8 grand. I tried using a diamond cup wheel on a grinder and it worked but left deep scratches. Then I remembered using a concrete patch mix on some sidewalk cracks at home. Mixed up a batch of Ardex SD-T spread it thin over the gouges with a trowel and let it dry for 6 hours. Came back and hit it with the grinder again on low speed and it blended in perfect with the surrounding floor. Whole job cost under 200 bucks. Has anyone else tried patching warehouse floors instead of grinding everything down?

Whole job cost under 200 bucks" - yeah but you spent 6 hours waiting for patch to dry, plus the grinding, plus the trowel work. That's like getting paid minimum wage for a job that looks decent from 10 feet away. At least you didn't have to explain to the owner why their "cheap fix" still needed a topcoat to match the sheen.
