Met a GC in Seattle who said engineered drawings are just suggestions
Honestly, I was on a job site last month in Seattle helping with some steel framing when the GC walked over and pointed at the drawings. He said 'these are just a rough idea, we fix the real problems out here.' Ngl, it threw me off because I always thought blueprints were gospel until I saw him adjust a beam layout on the fly. Has anyone else run into a GC who treats plans like a starting point?

Steel framing changes usually require an engineer's stamp though.
