Overheard a GC say they won't touch tilt-up panels under 8 inches anymore
Talked to a structural engineer in Omaha who said that's why they switched to precast on their last warehouse project and saved 6 weeks of schedule, has anyone else run into thickness minimums on tilt-up jobs that changed your approach?

Wait, are contractors really bailing on 8 inch panels now?

Yeah I gotta admit I was one of those guys who thought anything under 10 inches was fine if you brace it right. But after seeing a pour go wrong on a 7 inch panel a few years back I started paying attention to what the GCs were actually saying. Kinda makes sense now when I look at the math on it.
