Pro tip: Double check your concrete pump placement before they pour

Was on a job site in downtown Austin last spring, foreman tells me to fire up the pumper and move it 15 feet closer. I bump it forward, hit a buried gas line from the 80s nobody marked. Sprayed everyone with mud and we lost half the morning waiting for the utility crew to show up. Has anyone else had a hidden pipe ruin their day like that?

Man I felt that one in my bones. I once nudged a pump three feet to the right and kissed a water main that wasn't even on the blueprints from the 90s. Whole crew got baptized in cold muddy water and the foreman just stood there shaking his head like I did it on purpose. Gotta love when old infrastructure decides to ruin your whole morning before 9am.
