Rant: The $800 laser level that sits in my truck collecting dust

Bought a fancy rotary laser for a tilt-up panel job in Phoenix last month, figured it would save me time setting elevations. The thing worked great on paper, but the sun glare made the receiver useless and I went back to my $40 water level by lunch. Anyone else drop serious cash on something that just became an expensive paperweight?
