Spent $1500 on a thermal camera for a big office job and it found a leak we totally missed.
We were doing the final check on a new HVAC system in a three story building, and the camera showed a cold spot behind a finished wall where a pipe joint was bad. It saved us from a huge callback and water damage later. Anyone have a good brand they trust for this kind of gear?

That's exactly why those cameras are worth every penny.

But you still gotta know how to use it right.

Glad it worked for you, but that's a huge amount of money for a single tool. A lot of us get by just fine with a good moisture meter and careful checks. @morganm69 makes a fair point about the value, but I've seen too many guys buy fancy gear and still miss basic stuff. The real skill is knowing where to look, not just having the latest tech. Those cameras can make you lazy if you rely on them too much.
