Steel supplier in El Paso wants us to stop using fiberglass rebar
I drove past that new county courthouse shell last week and noticed the parking garage is going in with fiberglass rebar, but our go-to supplier is pushing us back to steel for a warehouse job north of town. They say steel handles heat exposure better, but the corrosion tests on the fiberglass were way better for the desert. Which one are you guys specifying for dry climates these days?

That courthouse garage is a selling point, I drove by it too. Fiberglass wins on corrosion every time in this heat, and the tests back that up. Stick with what the data says for the desert.
