Thought the new prefab wall system for a Phoenix strip mall would save us a week. Took three extra days just for the crane setup.

What's the one thing they NEVER put in the sales brochure? The extra week you spend just trying to build the thing they said would save you time. My schedule looked like a bad joke by the end.

Our last prefab job in Austin lost five days to permit delays nobody warned us about. The promised time savings just evaporated on site. It's never as simple as the sales brochure makes it sound.

Did the company that sold you the prefab units give any reason for the permit mess, or did they just leave you to figure it out? That's the kind of surprise that can wreck a whole schedule... I've heard some places are way worse than others with inspections for off-site builds. Was it the city itself that caused the hold-up, or something missing from the plans they gave you?
