TIL our crew wasted 3 days on a mall job in Denver because nobody checked the blueprint revision dates

We framed out 3 storefronts based on old drawings before the GC walked by and asked what we were doing with the March version, has anyone else had a project derailed by outdated plans?

First thing I do on every job now is have the foreman pull the drawing set and physically check the revision block against the GC's master list. Had a similar screw up on a strip mall in Aurora where we had a column footing sitting a foot off because they updated the structural on a reissue but buried the change note on page 14. Now I write the revision date in sharpie on the wall next to each layout line so everyone can see it before they cut anything. Saves the headache of ripping out three days of work.
