Warning: That 'cheaper' steel supplier cost me $12k in delays

Went with a discount supplier on a mid-rise job in Denver and their beams showed up 3 weeks late with rust spots... Lost a week waiting for replacements and the general contractor hit me with a penalty. Anyone else get burned by going with the lowest bid on materials?

Hate to break it to you but rust spots on steel aren't always a dealbreaker - they're often just surface rust from storage and can be cleaned off without replacing the whole beam.
