We had to pick between a standard and a custom roof deck system for a hotel in Boise
The choice was a basic, pre-made deck or a custom one from a company called SkyDeck Systems that cost about 15% more. We went with the custom option because it fit the weird shape of the building better and saved us two full days of on-site fitting. It worked out great, the install was smooth and the hotel owner was happy. Has anyone else used a custom deck system on a tight site and how did it go for you?

That "saved us two full days" part is key. I read a case study where a custom deck on a tight city lot cut the crane rental window in half, which made the whole project schedule work. The upfront cost was worth it for the time saved.
