We tried two different concrete suppliers on the same job in Boise last month
One batch was ready in 45 minutes, the other took over two hours to show up. The crew was just standing around waiting, which killed our schedule for the day. Anyone else had a supplier totally drop the ball on a tight pour?

Oh man, that reminds me of my buddy's nightmare pour last fall. His crew was doing a driveway and the truck just never showed. They finally called the plant after an hour, and the dispatcher had totally lost the order. Can you believe that? They had to scramble and get a truck from a different company across town, but the whole day was shot. Makes you wonder how that even happens, right?

Two hours is brutal. I used to just go with the cheapest quote, but a wait like that would change my mind fast.

Our foreman started calling the batch plant every 20 minutes for updates. That second truck got stuck behind a train crossing on Chinden, then the driver had to find a new route because of a last-minute road closure. It showed us that even a good supplier can get wrecked by local traffic and bad luck that day. Now we check for scheduled train times and city work before we even call in the order.
