Can we talk about the day my comms went out under the Golden Gate Bridge?

We were doing a hull inspection on a big container ship, about 80 feet down, when my helmet mic just died. No sound from topside at all. I had to finish the whole grid pattern using just hand signals with my buddy Carl, which took an extra two hours in that cold, dark water. Anyone else had to work a full dive with zero voice comms and how did you handle the log after?

Finishing a grid pattern with no comms sounds rough. My dive log after a comms failure looked like a kindergartner's crayon drawing, you could read the panic.

Yeah, that panic scribble is the real record. My buddy's notes just devolved into angry arrows and question marks, like he was trying to stab the slate. You can almost see the exact moment the team spacing fell apart.
