Diving off Alaska reminded me to check glove liners first thing
I took a job up north where the water was freezing. My hands got numb fast because my glove liners were packed wrong. Now I always unpack and inspect them right when I get to a new site. It takes a minute but saves a lot of pain during the dive. Trust me, this little habit makes cold work much easier.

Learn that lesson the hard way too. Numb hands make for a real personal wake-up call.

Not sure if numb hands are always a wake-up call, @shah.ben. Sometimes it's just from bad posture or holding a phone too long (you know, like when you're binge-watching shows and forget to move). It doesn't always mean something is wrong, right? Maybe it's a sign to take breaks, but not a major health alarm. Calling it a 'wake-up call' seems a bit much for temporary numbness. Could be overthinking a common thing.

You said it's overthinking a common thing, and I used to agree. Then my "temporary" numbness turned into a pinched nerve that took months of physical therapy to fix. Now I see that early numbness is your body's only way to yell at you before things get worse. Calling it a wake-up call isn't too much, it's just smart. Ignoring it is what costs you later.
