Hit 200 dives logged in the Gulf last month, never counted until now

I was going through my old logbooks for a job inspection and added up every dive since my first one in 2016 near Galveston, and 200 just snuck up on me without any big moment, so is there a dive number that made you stop and think about how far you've come?

Wait, you mean to tell me that you spent eight years diving in the Gulf and never once thought to add up the numbers until some random inspection? That's wild to me because I would've hit 50 and started throwing myself a parade. But honestly, I get it, the Gulf just kind of lulls you into a rhythm where the dives blend together until one day you realize you've got more log pages than a novel. For me, number 87 was the one that stopped me cold, because it was the first time I did a night dive alone without panicking about every shadow. That's when I knew I wasn't the same rookie who almost cried over a lost fin on dive three. So yeah, 200 sneaking up on you actually makes perfect sense, the big milestones rarely come with a soundtrack.
