Honestly, I just blew $300 on a 'professional' dive log app that crashed and lost my whole month of data.

Tbh, it was some new software a buddy recommended, but it totally failed during a sync after a job in Tampa. Anyone know a reliable, simple log system that actually works?

That "blew $300 on a 'professional' app" line hits home. I've seen this with so many tools, from photo editors to project software. They overcomplicate a simple task, charge a premium, and then the core function, like saving your data, just fails. It feels like we're all beta testers now.

Yeah, the "beta testers" feeling is spot on, @joseph_murray8. We pay full price to do the quality control they skipped. It's like buying a car where the doors fall off, but the cup holders are amazing.

300 bucks is a lot to spend on something that can't even do the one basic thing it's supposed to do, which is hold onto your data. That whole "beta tester" thing joseph said is spot on - they rush out half baked software and let us find the bugs for free. I switched back to a simple paper logbook after my last app let me down, and honestly, not having to worry about syncing or crashes has been a relief.
