Saw a diver in Mobile Bay skip the pre-dive comms check and it almost went bad

He was about to go down for a simple hull inspection and didn't confirm his mic was working with topside. His voice cut out at 30 feet, and topside had to pull him up on the line because they thought he was in trouble. It was just a loose connector, but it wasted a whole hour of paid dive time. How often do you guys actually test your full comms before hitting the water?

We test ours every single time, no exceptions.

Wow, that seems like overkill... testing every single time must slow things down so much. I mean, what if you already know it works?

My old boss lost a big client over one skipped test.
