Spent 4 hours yesterday trying to get a clean seal on a simple 4-inch pipe patch in 30 feet of murky water.
The current kept shifting the silt and my gloves were too bulky to feel the gasket seat properly, so what's your go-to method for working blind in low-vis conditions?

Four hours on a four-inch patch?! That's brutal. I'd ditch the gloves entirely if the water's warm enough, you NEED that feel. Sometimes just taping your fingertips is way better.

Remember when everyone used to cut the fingers off their gloves for that exact reason? I saw a guy last season who just used medical tape on his knuckles and palms, said it was the only way to feel the line. Seems like a good way to get sliced up on barnacles though.

My go-to method is just accepting I'll be down there for six hours and bringing a snack.
