Spent $800 on a fancy dive light with a magnetic switch that failed on a night hull clean in Tampa Bay.

I was 30 feet down in pitch black when the thing just shut off, leaving me fumbling with my backup while a curious grouper kept bumping my head, so what's the most reliable light you guys actually trust for real work?

Pitch black at 30 feet" is nightmare fuel, man. Heard a lot of the tech divers swear by the basic UK Light Cannon, just a simple twist head.

Pitch black at 30 feet" is more like total brown out in Tampa Bay.

Magnetic switches are a gimmick waiting to fail. My old Halcyon Focus has been dragged through caves and never quit. Simple mechanical switches win every time, right?
