The before and after on my drysuit inflation valve was night and day
I run a Viking suit that I've had for about 4 years now. For the first 3 years I just dealt with a sluggish inflation valve that would always stick a bit when I was in cold water up in Port Townsend. It drove me nuts but I figured it was normal wear and tear. Then last month I finally took it apart and cleaned out the little screen inside with some contact cleaner and a soft brush. That tiny bit of gunk was causing a 15-20 second delay in inflation. Now it snaps right open like it was brand new. Has anyone else had a similar fix on their valve that made a big difference?

Man, same here. Cleaned the screen and it was like night and day.

Coincidentally, I ignored my Sherwood valve for almost five years before I finally got around to cleaning it. I honestly thought the stiffness was just part of the suit breaking in or something. Turns out I was just too lazy to unscrew a few little parts and spray some cleaner in there. The first time it snapped open after the cleaning I actually laughed at myself for putting up with it so long. Did you find any weird debris in yours?
