Tried helium in my drysuit for a dry run at 120 feet, ended up losing half my buoyancy control

I thought the lighter gas would help with mobility and squeeze, but the suit felt completely different and I had to dump more air than usual. Anyone else experiment with weird gas mixes in the suit and get mixed results?

Oh man, that sounds like a rough day underwater. It's definitely not something you'd expect the helium to throw off your buoyancy that much. Hope you got out of it okay and can laugh about it now at least.

Right, Dakota nailed it on the weird buoyancy part. Helium is way less dense than air so your suit's lift characteristics get all thrown off at depth. Your gas density changes so fast that you have to constantly chase it with the inflator which is a recipe for a yo-yo ride.
