Appreciation post: the 6:12 bus driver who waits 30 extra seconds at the Elm St stop
I used to sprint three blocks to catch the 6:12 every morning and miss it by maybe 10 seconds about twice a week. Six months ago the driver noticed me waving like a maniac and started pausing at the Elm St stop a little longer, like 30 seconds more than the schedule says. Now I make it almost every day and I've stopped showing up to work sweaty and mad. It's a tiny thing and the schedule says he shouldn't do it, but it completely fixed my mornings. Makes me wonder how many little tricks like this are happening on other routes that nobody talks about. Has anyone else had a driver bend the rules a bit to help you out?
