Got told my backpack was a hazard on the bus
I ride the 42 bus downtown every morning and always kept my bag on the seat next to me during rush hour. Last Tuesday this older lady gets on, looks at my bag, and says "you know that's why people have to stand, right?" in a flat voice. Took me a second but she was right. Now I keep it on my lap or under my legs. Has anyone else had a stranger call them out on something small like that?

That lady probably saves that speech for a different backpacker every single week lol

Yeah I've had that happen. I used to do the same thing with my gym bag on the 76 express until some guy just slid it onto my lap without saying a word. Now I just put it between my feet or hold it. It's one of those small things you don't think about until someone points it out. The trick I found is if the bus is filling up I'll just scooch my bag onto my knees before anyone has to ask. Saves the awkwardness for everyone. You ever notice how much easier it is to just keep an eye on the crowd and move it early?
