I swore off the bus for years after a bad experience, but a flat tire last Tuesday made me give the 7:15 a shot again.
My car got a flat on the way to work. I was stuck near the downtown station, so I bought a ticket for the express line to the business park. The driver was really friendly, the bus was clean and quiet, and we got there in 25 minutes, which is faster than my usual drive with traffic. I've taken it every morning since. What's one thing that surprised you about a commute you thought you'd hate?

Yeah, I read that buses are way more reliable now.

Got dropped off at the wrong stop once and walked 40 minutes in the rain, swore off buses completely. But last month my bike chain snapped and I had to catch the 8:05 to the mall. What got me was how much things had changed from when I was a kid riding them to school. The seats were actually comfortable and people were just quietly on their phones, nobody yelling or anything. It made me realize we hold onto these old pictures in our head of what something is like, even when the reality has shifted completely. Like how people still complain about dial-up speeds when fiber is everywhere now.
