I used to think the bus was always slower, but my new route proved me wrong
For years I drove my truck to work, convinced the bus would take forever. Then last month my car was in the shop for a week, so I had to take the #14 line from my place in Tacoma. I timed it: the drive was 22 minutes with traffic, but the bus, using the express lane, got me there in 25. I was shocked! I realized I was wrong because I never actually tried it. The bus is way less stressful than fighting I-5 traffic. Has anyone else had a commute that was way better than they expected?

Funny how we get stuck in our ways. My old neighbor swore by his car for everything, even a three block trip to the store. Then his license got suspended. He started walking those short trips and found it was faster than finding parking. Said he felt like an idiot for never trying it before. Just goes to show you.

Yeah, I had the same thing happen with the 8th street line. It was a total game changer.

Remember my buddy who used to hate that commute? After the 8th street line changed, @aaronwest, he actually got home in time to eat dinner with his kids. He said it cut his trip by like twenty minutes easy. Totally changed his whole evening routine.
