My bus driver took a wrong turn and we ended up in a warehouse district

We were on the 7:15 route into downtown last Tuesday when the driver missed the exit off the highway. He announced over the speaker, 'Well folks, this is new for me too,' and we had to loop through an industrial area for 15 minutes. Anyone else had a driver get genuinely lost?

Actually, that's not a warehouse district, it's the old freight yards.

Wait, are we sure the driver was actually lost? I've been on buses where they take a detour because of a closed road or an accident up ahead. Maybe that exit was blocked and he had to go around. Sometimes they don't announce the real reason to avoid confusing people. Taking a loop through an industrial area seems like a weird way to get lost when they could just turn around.
