Showerthought: The 7:15 AM train from Westgate used to be packed, but for the last three months it's been half empty. Did a bunch of companies switch to hybrid schedules?

Used to be a total skeptic about the whole work from home thing lasting. Figured everyone would be forced back to the office. But seeing the 8:05 express nearly empty for months straight is proof. My own building's parking lot is a ghost town on Wednesdays now. Companies clearly aren't going back to the old five day grind. The quiet train car is the new normal.

The old lunch rush at the diner near my office is gone. They used to have a line out the door from noon to one, but now they close at two on weekdays. It's not just the trains, the whole rhythm of the downtown area has changed for good.

Man, that's a huge change. My morning bus route is the same way now, it's almost eerie. You used to have to fight for a seat, and now there are whole empty rows. It definitely feels like a permanent shift, not just a weird week. Has your commute gotten any easier with the extra space?
