Showerthought: The guy on the 7:15 train went from reading a huge book to just staring at his phone in like two months.
He was halfway through 'War and Peace' in January, and now he just scrolls through cat videos the whole trip, which makes me wonder if anyone else has seen a commuter's whole routine flip that fast.

Maybe he just hit a wall with it. That book is a real marathon, and sometimes you need a break from heavy stuff. Scrolling might just be a mental reset before he picks up another book.

Maybe he finished the book. War and Peace is a huge commitment, scrolling is the victory lap.

Remember my friend who tried to read that book? He got about halfway through, called it a victory, and then just watched TV for a month straight. He said his brain was fried. I see what you mean, victor101, about scrolling being a victory lap, but sometimes the lap never ends and you just leave the track.
