The new express bus lane on 5th Ave is actually making my trip slower
They added it 3 months ago, and now the regular traffic lane is so packed it takes 10 minutes longer to get to the bridge. Anyone else stuck in this mess and found a better route?

Yeah, I just cut over to Madison and it's way better.

The REAL issue nobody's talking about is how this bus lane is funneling all the extra cars onto the side streets that were NEVER designed for this much traffic. I live over on 43rd and now my whole block is bumper to bumper at 8am because everyone's trying to dodge 5th Ave. That's gonna be a nightmare for emergency vehicles trying to get through those narrow one-way streets too. The bus lane might be helping buses but it's just pushing the problem into neighborhoods that can't handle it.
