Took the bus instead of the train last week and actually showed up 20 minutes early

I live in Chicago and usually take the L train to work because it feels faster, but last Tuesday there was track work on the blue line. I had to pick between the train with a shuttle bus or just taking the regular city bus the whole way. I went with the bus since it was a straight shot down Western Ave. Honestly, I was surprised the bus was way less crowded and I got a seat the whole time. The driver was super chill and didn't hit every pothole like I expected. I showed up 20 minutes early compared to my usual train time because I didn't have to wait for the shuttle transfer. Has anyone else had a random commute switch work out way better than planned?

Nah wait, you got there 20 minutes early? That's wild, I always figured the bus would be slower with all the stops and traffic. Guess the shuttle transfer really was killing your time more than you realized.
