Just realized I was thermal pasting CPUs all wrong for 2 years
I used to do the pea method but kept getting uneven temps on my AMD builds in Phoenix. Switched to spreading it thin with a credit card after watching a repair shop video and my idle temps dropped by 8 degrees. Anyone else have a go-to method that works better?

Heard the pea method is a myth for AMD chips honestly lol.

Honestly the pea method thing is kinda like how people swear by certain hacks in other areas too. Like there's always that one tip for cooking rice or fixing a leaky faucet that everyone insists works but really it's just a rumor from some guy's uncle. For AMD chips especially, the pea method might help if you're perfect at it but most of us end up with air bubbles or too much paste. It's a bigger pattern where we overthink simple stuff when reality is just do a line or X and call it done.
