PSA: stop reinstalling Windows as your first move, seriously
I used to nuke and reload Windows on every slow machine that came through my bench, charged $150 and called it a fix. Now I run CrystalDiskInfo and a SMART check before I touch anything, and 8 out of 10 of those "slow" boxes just have a dying 5 year old hard drive throwing up read errors. Swapping in a $40 SSD and doing a clean clone with Macrium takes me 45 minutes and the customer keeps all their files. Last month a guy from the shop down the street brought me a laptop he'd reloaded twice, and the drive was clicking the whole time. Anyone else notice reloads are just a bandaid 90% of the time?
