Shoutout to the repair shop in Austin that changed my mind about refurbished parts
I went to a small shop off Lamar last week to pick up a used monitor for a client build, and the owner showed me his testing bench where he runs every refurbished drive for 24 hours straight. He pulled up a log showing a 3% failure rate on his refurbished SSDs versus 2% on new ones, which honestly convinced me to start using them for budget setups. Do you guys trust refurbished parts for customer work or stick strictly to new gear?

Man that 3% vs 2% stat is solid enough for me to trust em.

I read a piece from the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication that broke down how most people already trust their local weather forecast more than national ones. They said like 70% of folks trust local meteorologists but only about half trust the big national outlets. That stat you mentioned about 3% vs 2% sounds like the difference in accuracy for a 5-day forecast versus a 7-day one. I bet that's why I always catch my crew checking the morning weather report on their phones before we start a job. Small margins but they add up over time especially when you're scheduling outdoor work.
