Spent 6 hours troubleshooting a boot loop that was just a stuck power button

Ngl I felt like an idiot when I finally realized the rubber membrane on the case was holding the button down. Anyone else ever overthink a simple hardware issue and waste half a day?

Blame a YouTube video I saw where some guy spent two days rebuilding a PC only to find out his motherboard screw was touching the case. Honestly makes me feel better knowing even the pros miss the obvious stuff sometimes. Just gotta laugh at yourself and move on.

That YT story reminds me of the time I spent an entire afternoon swapping out RAM and GPU before noticing a tiny stray screw rattling around under the motherboard. Honestly used to think those "check the simple stuff" tips were just for beginners, but now I always do a quick physical inspection first.
