The moment a junior tech questioned my network cable terminations and I actually stopped to listen
It was last Thursday at a job site in Austin. A kid fresh out of trade school asked why I was using T568A pinout on a new run when the old cable looked like T568B. I almost brushed him off, but I checked the old cable and he was right. That simple observation saved me from creating a patch panel nightmare later. Has anyone else had a younger tech catch something you swore you knew by heart?

Respectfully, I see it a little different. The kid was right to speak up but sometimes you need to check the whole building not just one old cable because you never know what hack job the last guy did. Trusting a new guy's observation is smart but never assume the old work was done right in the first place.

Did you catch that thread on the electrician's forum about old buildings with hidden surprises like that?
