Tried to fix a weird fan noise with a zip tie and made it way worse

Had a PC in the shop with a rattling case fan, sounded like a tiny maraca. Figured I'd just secure the loose corner with a small zip tie, quick fix right? Well, I got it too tight and the fan blade clipped the tie on the next spin. It made this awful grinding noise and shot little plastic bits everywhere inside the case, lmao. Took me like 20 minutes to fish all the pieces out with tweezers. Learned that even a 'simple' fix needs the right touch and maybe just replace the $12 fan next time. Anyone else had a 'good idea' for a repair totally backfire on them?

Oh man, that's the worst! It's crazy how a tiny bit of overconfidence can turn a small job into a huge mess. Guess we've all learned that lesson the hard way.

Honestly, you ever try to fix a wobbly chair with duct tape? Tbh it just made a sticky mess and the leg still fell off.
