Warning: That all-in-one PC repair kit from Amazon stripped three screws on a laptop yesterday
I'm talking about the kit with the 60 bit magnetic driver that got rave reviews. Was working on a Dell Latitude from 2019, tried to pull a stubborn Phillips head and the bit just twisted right inside the screw head. Had to drill the whole thing out. These cheap bits with no real tempering are a scam. Anyone else had bad luck with those budget repair kits that claim to have everything?

Nah @viola_butler I've had fine luck with cheap kits user error matters more than the bit.

Right there with you, those kits are pure junk. Used one to replace a hard drive in an older HP and the #1 Philips bit just crumbled like cheap cheese after a few turns. The metal's way too soft for anything tougher than a phone screen.
