Appreciation post: The sidewalk outside the new library downtown changed how I think about joints
I was walking my dog past the new public library on 5th Street yesterday morning. The sun was low and hitting the fresh concrete walkway just right. I stopped and really looked at the control joints they cut, maybe a quarter inch deep and spaced about every 8 feet. The lines were so straight and clean, but what got me was how they followed the curve of the building's edge perfectly. It wasn't just a grid, it was planned for the shape. Made me wonder, how many of you guys have a specific rule for spacing on a curved pour like that?

What spacing did you end up using?

Oh man, my buddy went with 1.5. He said it looked way too cramped at single spacing.
