Bought a $30 magnetic broom for rebar cleanup, saved my back on the 40x60 pour in Topeka
I was picking up cut wire ties and rebar scraps by hand after tying on that 40x60 slab in Topeka, and my lower back was toast by lunch. One of the older guys on the crew told me to grab a magnetic broom from the supply house, ran me about $30 with the handle. I figured it was a gimmick but I swept the whole deck in maybe 15 minutes instead of 40. Also caught a bunch of staples I would've missed with my hands. Has anyone tried the wider push style ones, or do you just stick with the small handheld?
Sounds a bit dramatic for picking up some wire, but 15 minutes sure beats 40 no matter how you slice it. Probably just grab a wide one if you're doing slabs that size, the small ones get old fast.
