Finally got a perfect broom finish after 8 years of trying

I noticed most guys at my site in Phoenix drag the broom at a crooked angle and it leaves these ugly lines that catch water. I started pulling straight back with a light touch and my last driveway came out level enough to skate on. Has anyone else found a simple fix that made a big difference?

Buddy of mine out in Tucson did the same thing. He was fighting tiger stripes for years until his old man told him to quit twisting the broom handle. Next pour came out glass smooth.

Used to think twisting was fine. Saw it as just personal style. Then a buddy showed me his slab with the same stripes I'd been fighting. Let me try with a straight pull. Smooth as glass. Changed my whole approach right there.
