Hit 10,000 square feet in a single pour, but the real milestone was no cracks

I mean, everyone talks about square footage numbers as the big deal, but on a slab last month in Tucson we did 10k and the part that actually surprised me was zero control joints needed for a full week after. Maybe it's just me, but that felt like a better win than the volume itself. Anyone else track their longest no-crack stretch instead of just yardage?

Woke up at 4am last Tuesday to check a pour we'd done the day before, just to see how the cure was going. Found a hairline crack running about six feet from the control joint. Not a big deal, we sawed it in later that morning, but it got me thinking. My longest no-crack run was 23 days on a warehouse floor in Phoenix, but that was mostly because we used fiber mesh and kept the water ratio stupid low. The couple who owned the place texted me a photo of the slab every morning for a month, just to make sure. I think that's the real win, when people care enough about the concrete to watch it like a new puppy.
