Just realized I wasted $200 on the wrong curing compound

I bought a big drum of cure-and-seal from a supplier down in Tampa last month because it was on sale, but it turned out to be for stamped concrete only and left a glossy film on my flat driveway pour. Had to grind it off and reapply a basic wax-based compound, which set me back another $150 in materials and a full Saturday. Anybody else grab the wrong compound and learn the hard way that the cheap deal wasn't worth it?

Ain't that the truth. Did you check the manufacturer's website before you bought it or just grab whatever was on sale? I almost did the same thing last year with a "cure and seal" that turned out to be some industrial grade solvent based stuff for heavy machinery floors. Had to strip it with a pressure washer and a bunch of degreaser, which was a nightmare and took me two days. The glossy film sounds exactly like what I got, it looked like the driveway was sweating. Learn from me, always read the spec sheets, even if the price is too good to pass up.

My buddy grabbed one of those cheap all-in-one sealers and his garage floor still has tiger stripes from where it didn't bond right.
