My worst pour ever turned into my best lesson after 47 yards in the rain in Tulsa
I got a call to finish a 47 yard slab in Tulsa last November, and the rain started about 20 minutes after the trucks showed up. I wanted to walk off the job, but the GC told me if we back out now the whole pour is done for good. I fought that slab for 9 hours, floating and troweling between downpours while my helper bailed water with a bucket. We lost about 3 yards at the edges where the mud got too wet to work, and I figured the whole thing was trash. Ended up the finish held up fine because I slowed way down and worked it longer instead of rushing to beat the weather. Has anyone else had a pour go sideways with rain and actually come out okay?
