Overheard a contractor say he's never had a slab crack with fiber mesh in the mix

I've always stuck with wire mesh but after talking to him for ten minutes about how the fibers spread out more evenly, I'm going to try fiber on my next driveway pour next month has anyone else made the switch and regretted it or not?

Are you worried about the fiber poking through and looking rough on the surface though? I've seen that happen a few times and it makes me want to stick with wire.

My buddy Tim tried fiber once and spent three hours picking splinters out of his arm after leaning on the counter.
