Overheard a guy at the supply yard say he never seals his driveways and now I'm second-guessing my whole process

He was loading up a second wheelbarrow of concrete mix and said he's been pouring for 15 years without a sealer and never gets cracks, so does anyone else skip sealer on residential stuff or am I just wasting money buying the expensive stuff?

Used to swear by sealer every two years without fail. But my neighbor has been doing his driveway for a decade without any and honestly his looks better than mine that's been sealed twice. Kind of opened my eyes to it being a waste maybe.

Is it really worth all that time and money if a neglected driveway holds up just as good lol?
