Overheard a guy at the supply yard say he never uses a magnesium float on garage floors anymore
I was waiting in line at the yard on Tuesday and this older finisher was telling his partner he switched to a poly float for the first pass on every garage slab. He said it seals the surface better right away and makes the final finish way easier. I tried it yesterday on a two-car job in Springfield and the cream came up so smooth I barely needed my trowel. Anyone else make that switch and notice a big difference?

That's how all the best tricks get passed along.

Yikes, my first garage floor looked so bad I told people it was "abstract textured.

So you're telling me my garage floor could have been less of a disaster? I used a magnesium float on mine and it looked like I finished it with a rake.
